The Creative World of Peter Ganga

Born in Kerala, India, in 1948, Peter Ganga discovered his passion for art at a young age, inspired by his older brother. After starting his career painting designs for a local ceramics company, he pursued formal training at the College of Arts, Chennai (Madras), where he earned BFA, MFA, and a Postgraduate Degree in Industrial Design (Textiles).

A founding member of the Cholamandal Artist Village, Ganga’s works are part of collections across India, the U.S., Europe, and beyond. In the 1970s, he moved to New York, where his textile print designs became highly sought after by leading fashion houses.

Ganga later curated an exhibition at the National Arts Club, New York, to benefit the New York Lung Association, featuring renowned Indian artists.

Today, he creates oil paintings with a watercolor effect and fine ink detailing, reflecting his deep spiritual connection. He lives and works in the Hudson Valley, New York.
